Graduate School

ahhh....

my friends, it has been a very long time since I have graced you with my thoughtful lyrics

my deepest apologies...

Since January, life has happened to me, quite literally. I have graduated from Howard University (without completing my undergraduate thesis, sorry to say). I have spent two weeks traveling and studying in Egypt with DOC, KTS, and miscellaneous HU family. I am now a student in the department of public administration at the University of Delaware.

My mind is literally in whirlwind right now.

I am being pulled (socially, academically, and politically) in all different directions and each has a reason to do so.

First KMT:
I could not have prayed for a better way to spend $5,000 of my own money. (seriously) Taking the pilgrimage to Egypt was exactly what I needed to regenerate myself for scholarship, my passion and career choice! I am sure many of my sisters and brothers who went can attest to the fact that is very hard, almost impossible to put the emotions, thoughts, and expressions of the trip into verbal language. Perhaps it is the limitations of English, my love for the birth of Africa (ultimately of myself), or my deepest respect for languages verbal and nonverbal that I do not know how to deliver yet (hopefully in heaven)...but I have been having such difficultly trying to talk about the experience. So all I can promise is throughout the rest of my life journey I will reference and hopefully with a much better clarity then I have now, be able to share!

UD - MPA 2010
Earlier, on the phone with my mother, she told me to quote her (if I had the chance to) regarding my confusion about even being where I am at this very moment (Morris Library, University of Delaware), she gave me the classic (yet always profoundly correct)....it is in God's hands speech. I know that is true, and I know others can relate in having the need to be shown God's detailed plan for your life in explicit detail via powerpoint asap. This program was free, and hopefully I can take full advantage of being here and having this time away (from what? I'm not sure but I feel like I am AWAY....) I am excited more about my assistantship than my actual course work but I am sure my new found love for scholarship will make me excited about both.

HOTEP.

Officially Embarassed to be a Howard Student

My motto is: If you don't have enough money to tip, you do not need to go out to eat!
I do not understand why Howard students have failed to realize that there are people in this world who have to make a living by GOING TO WORK, not by living the privileged lives at a university that we all have, even me the full time job and full time school student!

i do not want to see another Howard student at my job again

Happy New Year!!!!

One full day into 2008, this year is looking way more promising than 2007 did. Even though the New Year ringing in left a lot to be desired, that bottle of Moet Rose made it all the while. I worked both days but trust... I am happy for the money. I made this month's rent in three days which is always good....plus I have like 150 left over to spend while I'm in Kansas City this weekend, but I doubt I'll pay my rent. I am going to wait until I get my refund check from school. Other than that, not too much is going on. I thought this dude had played me all the way to the left, but he showed up at Friday's today...which was cool, I was happy to see him. I don't know if he was happy to see me though. He seemed to be in a bad mood....or just a tad bit melancholy...maybe he had smoked before he came in...or something like that.Is this my diary?? Let me shut it up....I gotta make it to Washington Sports Club in the morning!!

Happy New Year!!!

The Great Debaters

Yo, this movie, was OFF the MA LUVIN chain.

Denzel... I mean there are geniuses in this world. More than any IQ test can prove to us. Denzel is so amazingly talented that I am contemplating stealing his sperm so I can have a child that has half of his beauty, now just physically but lyrically, creatively, and lovingly as well.

My girl Journee....she has become an amazing woman. Every generation has a group of child stars that they literally grew up with from birth to death. Journee was on Full House and now she is THE TRUTH. Seriously, I was personally proud of her watching her in this movie.

Oh of course, I'M SO GLAD.... I GO TO HOWARD U.....not a daggone thing worth mentioning about black people in history happened without a little taste or dabble at Howard. I love being a part of history.

I am watching the bootleg right now, but it is all good because I paid to see the movie and I will pay to buy the DVD...this just helps in the meantime.
