I don't have a place to live next semester because I didn't get housing, I don't have a car because my credit is outrageous after charging housing and registration deposits for three yrs on credit card cuz no one else could pay for it..... i work at least 2 jobs during the school year since I came to Howard... while achieving a 3.5gpa to keep my scholarship.....

shouldn't someone be supporting me???

Easter Sunday: Roots or Ten Commandments??

For those of you who do not know....

I have spent the last 40 days without an idiot box, commonly referred to as a television set. I proposed the idea to God and he made it so (I had THOUGHT about giving up TV for lent and I came home and my tv did not work....therefore I had to give up tv for lent!) Miraculously however, one day while cleaning my room I thought I was going to just throw my television out and I decided to test it one last time, I did, and amazingly it worked.... so after all of that, I have spent 40 days without TV and now I am back to it....

I kinda missed it, but in ways I didn't realize until I was watching it again. For example, at this moment I am getting my Will & Grace on.... I watched Will and Grace three times a day pre-Lent, but I had forgotten all about it until I caught it while flipping through channels.

TV isn't just sitcoms; it is your connection to the world unlike the internet. I did not know of ANY of the movies out because without TV, I never saw a single movie ad. People made comical references to Top Model, MtV Shows, commercials.... basically everything I missed!

but what got me the most

was that MTV had resurrected what had been my reason for late night living throughout the summer during high school... UNDRESSED

as an undersexualized American teen, UNDRESSED was the perfect amount of soft core porn and teenage petty drama to keep my attention night after night,

so I spent last night watching episode after episode of corny story lines like "girls boobs grow, cute guy wants to smash" and "expensive hot girlfriend making stupid guy go broke" and so on and so forth.... the hilarity, the memories, the fun.....

Anyways... I'm back to my wasted hours in front of my box

I've been posting things here more often than usual!

So today, I went to one of my favorite (but secret) chill spots to study, grab something to eat, and of course people watch.

It was okay, more crowded than what I would have preferred, but I noticed one thing.... everybody was out doing their Sunday "boo-loving" ie...grabbing coffee while reading the sunday paper together, having breakfast before running sunday errands, coming from church and having a nice breakfast out before going home.... all the stuff....

i wish i was doing...

On the way home from work last night I was reading The Sex Chronicles by Zane... now I'm not one to ready trashy novels, when I first started reading it I felt like other people could tell I was reading the freakiness and were thinking to themselves how nasty of a person I am...

but more than anything Zane made me realize how lonely things can get when you are not boo-loving
