Store manager punched at mall; 5 arrested
Wauwatosa - Five Milwaukee women are facing criminal misdemeanor charges, including one of them for battery, after police said a 21-year-old woman attacked a Mayfair Mall store manager who tried to confront another woman in the group for shoplifting.
Theodora Dukes of the 3900 block of N. 53rd St. was charged Monday with battery. Police say she assaulted the manager of the Express store, punching her in the face and head, after the woman tried to stop Felicia Dukes from shoplifting Friday. Felicia Dukes, of the 2100 block of N. 48th St., was charged with retail theft.
Three others also were charged: Bridget Howard of the 9000 block of N. 75th St. and Detra L. Dukes of the 1200 block of N. 26th St., for receiving stolen property; and Samaria Tyson of the 1400 block of N. 30th St., for obstructing an officer.
Police were called to the mall around 4:45 p.m. Friday on a report of a fight. All five women were arrested and taken to the Milwaukee County Jail. Police confiscated more than $400 in stolen merchandise, some of which the women said they'd stolen previously and were attempting to return.
