Things Fall Apart

Taking the time to reach back and read a book that I detested in high school. Admittedly, I did not know exactly why I did not like this book but I am sure that the review will grant me a better understand of Achebe and his writings. I am curious about what a coco-yam is and why a yam is hailed as the male crop when all the other crops like cassava melons are female.... not making sense.
